España Consigue 3 Bronces en la Wado World Cup (Nagoya -2010)

El pasado 14-15 de Agosto se celebró la Copa del Mundo de Karate Wado-Kai (Wado-kai World Karate-do Cup 2010) held in japanese city of Nagoya on 14th-15th of August 2010 attending 30 countries, 20 of them in Kumite Teams. Spanish Squad, coached by Miguel Ángel Basquero (kata) and Antonio Salas Sanz (Kumite) got three bronze medals, an exceptional result which show the hard work of all of them.

Violeta Nemec reached the third place in Female Kata Cadets, losing against japanese Nao Sugiyama who became the winner of the category.

Female Kumite Team, also got the bronze medal winning all their rounds until being defeated by subchampion Russian team. Japan reached the gold medal of this category. Our team was composed by Beatriz Letamendía, Paloma Bustos, Tamara Sánchez and Laura Basquero.

In the category of Male Kumite Team, Vicente Dominguez, David González, Javier Martin, Jesús Blasco, Pedro Perez, Miguel Delgado and Jose Luis Granja, added the third bronze medal of our delagation, winning against selections as Nepal or USA and just overcome by the strong and champion team of Japan. Final faced a very good Russian team against the amazing Japan squad in one of the best finals ever.

We would like also to highlight the good performance in individual kumite and kata of Sergio Escobedo, Miguel Llavori and Roberto García, one step behind the medals.
